Lauren Kates and her teammate Rachel Bouchillon are representing UF at the World University Championships in Poland on July 4 to July 6. Video: Friends of the Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Library Book Sale occurred from Saturday to Wednesday. More than 700,000 items — including books, CDs and artwork — were on sale at the Friends of the Library Bookhouse, 430 N. Main St. All items were 10 cents on Wednesday.

Video: Festival draws artists of all sorts

Artists of various forms came together for the first annual Art and Bass creative collaboration festival Saturday. The all day event was held at the JAM in downtown Gainesville. The festival also helped to raise money for the Gainesville Art Collective and B.E. Easy Scholarship Fund for addiction and open dialog.
