The Tom Jones Memorial Classic was created to commemorate the former Florida track and field coach. The current Gators used the meet to make some memories of their own.
Former UF track and field coach Percy Beard helped create and build one of the best men’s teams in the country. This Saturday’s meet on Percy Beard Track will commemorate one of the most important figures in the women’s team’s history.
UF ended the Florida Relays in a deserving fashion — with a standing ovation from a near-capacity crowd.
As a running back on the Florida football team, Jeff Demps is used to playing in front of 90,000 people, but this weekend, a crowd of 5,000 will be something special.
Different setting, same results for the UF men’s and women’s track teams.
The UF men’s and women’s track and field teams return to Orlando this weekend for the UCF Invitational. After several younger members of the team competed at UCF last weekend, many of the participants from the NCAA Indoor Championships will compete for the first time in the outdoor season.
The UF men’s and women’s track and field teams showed their depth over the weekend by combining to win seven events at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge.
After finishing the indoor season Sunday, the Florida men’s and women’s track and field teams will take their competitions outside.
Behind seven individual All-American performances, the UF men’s track team won the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., this weekend.
