Rae Weinstein is a sophomore majoring in political science. Fall 2024 is her first semester with The Alligator as Cross County Reporter and in her free time she enjoys reading, watching the NY Mets and playing field hockey.
In an arena full of fans chomping and chanting “air ball” after Virginia missed, No. 13 Florida beat UVA Wednesday night at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in the ACC/SEC Challenge. The victory improved Florida’s undefeated record to 9-0.
The event saw 31 schools competing with a total of 254 runners on the course. Eight Gators traveled to Madison: freshmen Reagan Gilmore and Gabrielle Schmidt; juniors Hilda Olemomoi, Beth Morley, Caroline Wells and Tia Wilson; and seniors Allison Wilson and Liina Winborn.
The Florida men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the NCAA South Regional at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee Friday. A combined 214 runners from 31 schools competed in the women’s race with the men’s race including 26 schools with 179 runners.
The Florida men’s and women’s teams finished No. 12 and No. 3 in the SEC.
After being unable to compete in the FSU XC Invite on Oct. 11 due to Hurricane Milton, the Florida Gators cross country team traveled to Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday to compete in the third and final meet of the regular season.

12 men and 12 women traveled to Columbia, Missouri, to represent the Florida cross country team at the Gans Creek Classic Friday. It was the second race of the Gators’ 2024 season.
