Florida swim ready for SEC Championships

As coach Gregg Troy said, the theme for training the No. 7 men and women’s swimming and diving teams for the Southeastern Conference Championships is: “Not where we want to be but still in a really good spot.”
The No. 7 UF men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams finished their last home dual meet on a high note.
With their last regular meet of the season, the UF men and women’s swimming and diving teams will compete against Tennessee at home in the O’Connell Center Natatorium on Saturday. It will also be the final regular season meet for the 10 men and three women seniors on the teams, celebrated as "senior day."
Heading into the weekend with just two dual meets remaining in the season, the Florida swimming and diving teams looked to make a strong push to qualify their athletes for the NCAA Championship.
The UF men’s swimming and diving teams returned to the O’Connell Center Natatorium unaffected by the hiatus in training that came with winter break.
At the conclusion of the fall season, UF women’s tennis coach Roland Thornqvist struggled to find words to describe the success of freshman Brooke Austin.
From the suburbs of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, to the densely populated New York City, the young Gators ended their fall season Sunday competing at Florida’s highest level in recent years.
The Gators ended their fall season with mostly wins as they stepped off their home courts in the Florida Invitational on Sunday.
Freshman Brooke Austin was the only successful Gator in singles at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships Thursday.
