UF students discuss meal plan options

Thursday marked the 50th anniversary of the arrival of Srila Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, at UF. His 1971 address, which took place in the Plaza of the Americas, inspired the Krishna Lunch known by UF students and the Gainesville community today.
The department of PM&R became UF College of Medicine’s first new clinical department — a group of researchers, administrators and clinicians who support each other to achieve a specific mission — in 30 years. However, its journey began in September 2014, Dr. Kevin Vincent, the founding chair, said.

After over a year of virtual programming, UF Student Government is using $1.55 million from its reserve account to enhance the student experience. All of the different components of LGBTQ+ advocacy at UF have cleared the path for the future change sought after this Pride Month. However, reckoning with UF’s troublesome past with the LGBTQ+ community presents a continual challenge for the students of today.
Audrey Cheves and her mother, Melissa Cheves, were hit by a car on Northwest 39th Avenue while driving out of the Publix parking lot June 5. Audrey Cheves was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 18 years old.
Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month was celebrated across the U.S. in May, commemorating Asian American and Pacific Islander culture and history. UF students shared what the month and their heritage means to them.
Twenty-one pedestrians and 17 bicyclists were hit on the state road from January 2016 to March 2021, according to data from the Gainesville Police Department. Three additional pedestrians were hit in the parking lot of the Circle K at 20 NE Waldo Rd during the same time frame.
