One bus, one band and a group of friends will hit Gainesville music venue Common Grounds today at 9 p.m.
Rachael Yamagata, the singer, songwriter and pianist, has released her second full-length album called "Elephants … Teeth Sinking Into Heart," and she's hopping on the bus for the Hotel Café Tour, which also features folk-rock singers Ingrid Michaelson and Meiko.
In a national phone conference, comedian Sarah Silverman schleped over to a phone to discuss the season two premiere of "The Sarah Silverman Program" on Comedy Central and her voting campaign called "The Great Schlep," which favors Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. The Latina Women's League kicked off the third annual Latino Film Festival on Saturday at the Hippodrome State Theater. The festival, part of Hispanic Heritage Month, features a free movie every Saturday at 2 p.m. through Oct. 13.
