Senior guard KeVaughn Allen was held to zero points in Florida's 81-60 loss to Florida State.

Senior guard KeVaughn Allen was named to the Jerry West Award Watch List on Tuesday, according to an announcement from The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Little Rock, Arkansas, native is one of 20 players named to the watch list, which is given annually to the top shooting guard in college basketball. Previous winners include NBA draft picks Malik Monk, Buddy Hield and D’Angelo Russell.

Allen, who is No. 10 on Florida’s all-time three-point field goals list with 188, has over 1,000 career points. He’s one of 53 Gators to share that distinction. Last season, he had three 20-point games, including a 28-point performance against Arkansas.

The 20-man list will be cut in half by mid-February, with five finalists being chosen in March. The winner will be announced April 12 at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show in Los Angeles.

Allen had an impressive sophomore campaign, but saw his points per game dip by three last year as a junior, despite playing more minutes. Known for being a man of few words, his teammates say he has taken steps toward being a vocal leader for the Gators this fall.

“He’s a very closed-off person,” senior center Kevarrius Hayes told the media Thursday. “He’s definitely talking a lot more, that’s something we’re all proud of.”
