The Gainesville Fine Arts Association will host its 10th annual Fine Arts Fair in Tioga Town Center this weekend, where residents can experience and celebrate Gainesville’s thriving art community.

This Friday, the High Dive will be hosting a free Art Attack event as part of Gainesville’s monthly artwalk. The event will run from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and is open to the public. Tom Miller is a familiar name to many around Gainesville, to say the least. The artist of many talents has been performing in the city for longer than many of its students have been alive, boasting the longest-running open-mic show in the country, “The Tom Miller Show.”
Feminist activist artists called the Guerrilla Girls combat and expose inequality in politics, art and pop culture through their artwork — all while wearing gorilla masks. Tonight, the Guerrilla Girls will bring their performance to the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art where a member of the group, who goes by the name Frida Kahlo, will give a lecture.

“The Divine: A Play for Sarah Bernhardt” will be presented by UF’s School of Theatre and Dance from Friday to Sunday and Feb. 3 to Feb. 5 in the Constans Theatre.
This Friday, the monthly Artwalk Gainesville event will be taking place around the downtown area. There will be 19 venues exhibiting local art at the event, which is free and open to the public.

Since last Friday, the Hippodrome State Theatre has been performing a unique, comedic Christmas story. The show, “The Ultimate Christmas Show (Abridged),” will run until Dec. 18, with shows every day of the week besides Mondays.
The Gainesville Vintage Pop Up Market will open this weekend for the second time this year. The market will sell vintage and handmade items, including jewelry, clothes, linens and antique hardware, in support of local artisans.
For UF’s 2016 International Education Week, there are currently two winning exhibitions on display in Constance and Linton Grinter Gallery of International Art, located in the lobby of Grinter Hall. The Global Photo Competition Exhibit, displayed from Nov. 2 through Nov. 30, is sponsored by both the University International Center and the UF School of Art and Art History.

UF’s School of Theatre and Dance will host its annual Fall BFA Dance Showcase, opening Wednesday at 7 p.m. under the theme “Mind Your Step.”
The Hippodrome State Theatre will host two weeks of international performances throughout the end of October and early November starting today. The performances will include world-traveling actors from the Workcenter of Jerzy Growtowski and Thomas Richards. But here’s the kicker: The actors will not have microphones, lights or even a set to perform with. They will showcase the revolutionary method of Jerzy Growtowski, a 20th-century Polish dramatic theorist. Growtowski’s method breaks boundaries between actor and audiences, creating an atmosphere that transforms audience from watchers into doers.
Tampa Indie Flea will host its first indie flea pop-up market in Gainesville this Sunday.
