UF track and field coach Mike Holloway was pleased with Yanis David's performance at the National Relay Championships in Arkansas, saying, “She got focused, and she worked on the things she needed to do to jump farther."

Gators track and field teams dominate at FSU Relays to begin outdoor season

Chantz Sawyers strolled over to teammate Grant Holloway with his head high, his hands on his hips and a smirk on his face. Holloway could only answer by hugging the freshman and raising his hands. It was an underclassmen versus upperclassmen split between the Gators’ men’s 4x400 relay teams, and Sawyers’ group, consisting of three freshmen and one sophomore, topped the two other teams of veterans.


A week after winning the SunTrust Gator Invitational last weekend, sophomore Sierra Brooks carded the only under-par score for Florida in the first round of the Evans Derby Experience in Auburn, Alabama.

Florida women’s golf struggles after tournament win

Last week, the Florida Gators women’s golf team won the SunTrust Gator Invitational while setting a tournament record by shooting even par. The week before, it ran away with a win at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship. This week at the Evans Derby Experience in Auburn, Alabama, however, an entirely different narrative was written.
