Joyful purpose: Patric Young’s inspirational legacy lives on at 629 Open

Patric Young hasn’t let the hardships get the best of him throughout his life. In fact, he’s thrived in moments of adversity to create a heartwarming organization better known as the Patric Young Foundation. The two-time All-SEC honoree and 1,000-career point scorer, who reached three Elite Eights and a Final Four with the Florida men’s basketball team, appreciates life today more than ever, he said.

Stricklin to serve as bridge for athletics between Fuchs’ presidency, his successor

UF President Kent Fuchs was faced with the tough task of replacing one of the most decorated athletic directors in SEC history within his first two years at UF. Sen. Ben Sasse is currently in line to take over for Fuchs as he’s the sole candidate to be named president of the university. Sasse, or whoever becomes the next president, likely won’t have this same hurdle as Stricklin is set to be in charge for the foreseeable future. Stricklin’s set to work with the next university president as he’s under contract until 2027.

UF walk-on turned Super Bowl Champion: How Clifford Taylor IV made it

“There’s no Rams without the Florida Gators,” Taylor said.  Taylor, 22, walked on to the Florida football team in Summer 2019. He never saw any game time, but his determination and resilience proved to be his biggest asset. Taylor became the LA Rams social media and design specialist in June 2021 by having a knack for finding closed doors, knocking on them and getting an answer.
