The all-around effort helped catapult No. 22 Florida (18-5, 9-3 SEC) to a sweep against Alabama (10-12, 2-9 SEC), giving the Gators their seventh consecutive win.
Cheers of joy rang out over the court as Florida sophomore Jeremy Jin won his qualifying match at the men's Intercollegiate Tennis Association Sectionals in Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday. Jin was the only Gator to represent UF at the tournament. The ITA Sectionals is one of the key qualification tournaments for the NCAA Singles Tournament, which takes place in Waco, Texas, from Nov. 19-24.
Per Nilsson coached two Gators, freshman Talia Neilson-Gatenby and senior Alicia Dudeney, at the 17-team ITA South Sectional Championship event in Athens, Georgia.
