UF celebrates Malachowsky Hall’s grand opening

University leaders, including UF President Ben Sasse and Board of Trustees Chair Mori Hosseini, gathered outside the $150 million building Nov. 3 under an overcast sky and drizzling rain with its namesake, UF alumnus and Software Company NVIDIA co-founder Chris Malachowsky, for a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

UF faculty express concern over state proposal limiting ‘social activism,’ banning DEI funding at public universities

A newly proposed state regulation, if approved, will dictate how public universities implement Senate Bill 266, a sweeping set of higher education reforms signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis in May. The regulation would finalize DeSantis’ nearly year-long campaign against diversity, equity and inclusion programs at Florida universities.
