Students say late UF announcement, lack of Tuesday cancellation messed with Hurricane Ian planning

In chronological order, other public universities like USF, UCF and FSU, released directives for Hurricane Ian before UF. Some students have criticized UF’s response for a variety of reasons: not giving enough time to evacuate, disrupting exam schedules and having a slower response than other universities.

Thousands of UF students vote in Fall Student Government election despite Hurricane Ian delay

Due to school closures in response to Hurricane Ian, the second day of elections was moved from Sept. 28 to Monday, Oct. 3. Voting times and locations will remain the same, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at any polling location.

Turlington protesters show solidarity with global climate strike

Last Friday, Sunrise Movement Gainesville, UF College Democrats, Youth Democratic Socialists of America, Climate Action Gator and Take Action Florida participated in a climate strike alongside other international organizations. The medical school recently put out a study saying coffee could help with nicotine addiction, especially in the morning, because after a night of no nicotine a molecule in coffee can help soothe some active addicted receptors in your brain.
