When Craig “Tre’” Smith III realized there were children his age who don’t have easy access to clean water, he set a firm goal to raise funds for those children and began Aug. 16.
This legislation would replace the FSA with three shorter tests administered in the fall, winter and spring. These tests would provide information about students’ growth throughout the year to the students, teachers and parents, fostering improvement opportunities.
ACPS is the first school district in the U.S. to receive a grant from the federal government as a part of Project SAFE, a grant program that reimburses school districts for funding withheld by a state government because of mask requirements and other COVID-related protocols.
The ACPS website now includes a late bus tracker that lists which routes are late each day and states whether there was a driver in extreme delays.
Buchholz is the largest public school in Alachua County, with more than 2,200 students. The string of recent false bomb threats at the school has led to work disruption, missed class time and curriculum setbacks for the thousands of students, teachers and parents involved.
After a year of Alachua County Public School students having the choice to learn from home, parents now have one less remote option.
