In regard to Brian Steele's column about the Gator offense's lack of flair, I just want to say his view may be a little rushed.
Sure, eight touches for the best all-around player in the conference is not "letting loose," and not getting the talented trio as many plays as physically possible is insane.
Like many fans, I was troubled by the apparent lack of production - at first.
Thinking more about it, however, the lack of offensive diversity may not have been all that bad in the long run. Last year, if the offense had controlled the ball and the clock against LSU or even Georgia, there may have been different outcomes in both games.
It's a learning process.
Much like they did last season, the Gators proved they could put on a show on their first drive, but with the rest of the game they proved they could manage the clock - and the game - if needed.
That is a necessary facet of their already explosive arsenal.
