Five local women, including several UF students, auditioned for the Atlanta Hawks' NBA franchise dance team Saturday in the Reitz Union.
Four were chosen to move on to Fabulous Finalists Week in Atlanta on July 13, where they will participate in a boot camp and showcase.
Donni Frazier, the director of the group, known as A-Town Dancers, is a UF alumna and former Dazzler. Frazier said she used to coach the Dazzlers and chose UF for the Hawks' only satellite audition because she knew about Gainesville's "hidden talent."
She said she wanted to give her college town the first opportunity to try out.
