Ever since HBO aired the final episode of "Entourage" three weeks ago, many of its viewers have been void of Lloyd, the show's steadfast, flamboyant character, who is the assistant to maniacal Hollywood agent Ari Gold.
Well, weep no more.
As part of Asian Kaleidoscope Month, the Accent Speakers' Bureau is bringing Rex Lee, the Korean-American actor who plays Lloyd on the show, to speak at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on Oct. 12.
Accent is paying Lee $27,000 for his appearance.
After polling the student body, the Accent staff found that "Entourage"was the most popular show among students, according to Accent chairman Corey Portnoy.
Portnoy later discovered that Lee was an openly gay actor raised in a traditional Korean family. Out of all the actors on the show, he had the most interesting story to tell.
"Rex was supposed be on the show one time, but HBO thought he was great, so they kept him on," Portnoy said. "He has faced adversity and speaks out about it, but he's entertaining at the same time."
This event also marks the beginning of Asian Kaleidoscope Month, which runs until Nov. 11 and celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of Asians and Asian-Americans.
The theme of this year's month is "Defining Your Story," according to Anthony Nguyen, executive director of Asian Kaleidoscope Month.
"His story is very unique," Nguyen said. "It shows everyone the different paths people can take through their lives, so I thought it would be a great way to start the month."
Master lecturer Mike Foley will interview Lee followed by a Q-and-A session with the audience.
Admission is free, and doors open at 7 p.m. The interview will begin at 8 p.m.
