A local man was arrested Sunday in connection with charges of sexual battery in the Northeast 23rd Avenue area, according to a Gainesville Police report.
Jeffrey Swartz, 52, approached a woman sitting on a bench between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. and asked for sexual favors, a GPD report stated.
The man did not threaten any bodily harm, but the woman told police his voice was intimidating. Fearing for her safety, she did as he asked, the report stated.
A few hours later, the woman reported his name to the police. Police said that Swartz and the woman knew each other casually.
Swartz admitted to sexual contact with the woman, but said the contact was consensual, the report stated.
