Head men’s golf coach J.C. Deacon announced the Fall schedule for his team Thursday.
The Gators will play three tournaments this fall, all against Southeastern Conference opponents due to restrictions put forth by the SEC earlier this week. These restrictions include teams playing a maximum of three tournaments, all starting later than October 1 and all teams must play other SEC opponents that are within their same geographic region.
Play will start the week of Oct. 5. The Gators will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to compete in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. The tournament is hosted by the University of Arkansas and will feature all 14 SEC schools. It will be a three day, 54-hole stroke play contest, ending Oct. 7. All three days will be broadcasted live on the Golf Channel.
Florida will then play on Oct. 25-27 at the Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee. They will compete in-conference against several schools, including Kentucky, Auburn and LSU in the newly created Vanderbilt Legends Collegiate tournament.
The tournament schedule finishes in Alabama, where the Gators will play in the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate on Nov. 9 and 10. This tournament is hosted by the University of Alabama at the Old Overton Club and will be an SEC-exclusive event this year. Florida last competed in this tournament in 2015, when it placed 2nd overall.
