Chompmenus.com released an app for iOS and Android users last week that allows Gainesville residents to order from their phone.
“Over the past two years there’s been an increasing trend through mobile devices,” said Andrea Garcia, the regional marketing director for http://www.chompmenus.com. “We wanted to spend time developing an application that would benefit those users.”
Alicia Newton, a 24-year-old Santa Fe political science sophomore, said the app makes ordering more convenient.
“I think it’s going to create a lot more business if people have that resource at their fingertips,” Newton said.
Michael Garcia, a 22-year-old UF architecture graduate student, said it could create competition with other food delivery services like Gainesville2Go.
But Jackson Bodiford disagrees.
Bodiford, a manager at Gainesville2Go, said it’s more efficient than its competition.
“We do all the steps other than cooking the food,” Bodiford said.
Bodiford said that http://www.chompmenus.com is not always up to date.
“We tried their service once,” said Bodiford. “We ordered from a restaurant that was still on their website but that closed down a while ago. An hour later we got a call saying there was no response from the restaurant.”
