Daniella Graubard ate a $4 Italian Toasty Torpedo sandwich almost every day of her sophomore year.
But the 21-year-old advertising senior can no longer get her favorite Quiznos sub on campus. Gator Dining Services is replacing Quiznos in the Hub with a Provisions on Demand Market.
The new P.O.D. location will open in late September or early October, Marketing Program Manager for Gator Dining Services Jill Rodriguez wrote in an email.
“The P.O.D. Market offers numerous grab-and-go items, including snacks, sandwiches and beverages,” she wrote. “With the Hub being such a busy location on campus, we felt this type of concept would better meet our customer’s needs.”
Graubard disagreed.
“People won’t go to it when Chick-fil-A and Starbucks are next door,” she said.
The Racquet Club dining center also changed its eating options for this semester. Chili’s Too became Chomp It, a restaurant offering sandwiches, salads and burgers.
Other changes for Gator Dining Services include opening a P.O.D. Market and Subway at the Rawlings bus stop in Spring, Rodriguez wrote. A Fresh Food Company expansion and Gator Corner Dining Center renovation are also in the works.
