The Student Health Care Center basement and first two floors are scheduled to close to patients and students from June 23-27, but limited services will be available for university athletes.
The patient rooms and lobby are undergoing renovations to update the building, said Catherine Seemann, communications coordinator for the SHCC.
The renovations started June 6 with the basement of the infirmary, and the renovations will continue in phases.
The center is also adding a rubber runner on the wheelchair ramp to add traction and assist students, she said.
The renovations, including design and construction, will cost $375,000, wrote the UF spokesman Steve Orlando in an email.
General medical services will be available at the UF Health Shands Satellite Clinic in the Student Health Science Center.
Information about the clinic will be available on the outside of the building in the information tubes.
“This shouldn’t affect students,” Seemann said. “The only disruption is break week.”
The pharmacy is open in an alternate opening in the back of the building, and students can take RTS or GOTCHA ride with a Gator 1 Card to UF Health Shands Satellite Clinic.
