It came as no surprise to media outlets when 2025 five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson signed with Florida on Sunday after being released from his original commitment to Oregon. Nevertheless, Wilson’s flip gave the Gators a massive boost in their wideout room for next season — and for years to come.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Tampa native committed to Oregon in Jan. 2023. After nearly two years, however, Wilson backed out of his UO financial package and joined Florida’s 2025 class, according to On3 Sports.

Wilson took a pair of official visits to UF throughout his recruiting process, the first being this past June and the latter coming one day before Florida’s home game against Ole Miss on Nov. 23. With Wilson’s signing, he becomes UF’s highest-graded prospect in next year’s recruiting cycle. The five-star wideout was also heavily recruited by Florida State, Miami and UCF.

In his high school career at Tampa Bay Tech, Wilson totaled 130 receptions for 2,424 yards and 30 touchdowns. As a senior, he recorded 41 receptions for 677 yards and nine touchdowns on 16.5 yards per reception. According to 247Sports, Wilson “should be viewed as one of the top pass catchers in the 2025 cycle given his big-play capabilities and rare physical features.”

Wilson is ranked the No. 20 overall player in the nation and will join 2025 four-star wideout Vernell Brown III in a freshman receiving core that could have an extremely bright future. Moreover, the Under Armour All-American nominee is the No. 4 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 3 overall player in Florida.

Florida’s 2025 class moved up one spot to No. 10 in the nation in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings after signing Wilson. The Gators ranked as low as No. 51 at the beginning of November.
