Man arrested for murder of alleged accomplice

A Gainesville man was arrested and charged with felony murder on Wednesday after allegedly shooting and killing his accomplice during a muddled robbery on Aug. 12 in Lake City.

According to an Alachua County Sheriff's Office police report, Isaac Ellerby and Lenoris Owens were attempting an armed robbery when one of the victims took Owens' gun and shot him in the forehead.

Ellerby fired two or three shots before running from the scene, the report stated.

Lake City police discovered Owens, and he was taken by ambulance to Shands at UF, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the report.

Following interviews with Owens' family, officers connected Ellerby to the incident, leading to his arrest and induction into the Alachua County Jail.

Ellerby posted bail at $1 million, according to an article in The Gainesville Sun.
