About 250 entrepreneurs and students gathered at the Hilton UF Conference Center Thursday night for the S. Clark Butler Annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Dinner.
The dinner, hosted by the UF Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, honors the greatest local entrepreneurs.
Only five universities in the country, including UF, offer master’s degrees in entrepreneurship, said William Rossi, the associate director of the center.
The center recognized seven entrepreneurs, including two UF graduate students.
Arnold Heggestad, founder of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, was awarded the Lifetime Distinguished Achievement in Entrepreneurship Award.
“The success we’ve had has really come from the students,” Heggestad said.
