Matt Mizereck covered a lot of ground Saturday — 2,300 meters to be
exact — and he did it faster than anybody else at the UCF
Invitational.
The freshman distance runner won two events, giving Florida five
total victories for the weekend in Orlando.
Mizerick, competing in his first collegiate meet, won the
1500-meter run in 3:52.93 and followed it up by capturing the
800-meter run.
In addition to Mizerick’s efforts, Florida had a good day on Friday
as well, winning three events and breaking a school record in the
process.
Sophomore Jeremy Postin made UF history in the hammer throw,
posting a 64.70m/212-3 mark.
Postin’s historic throw broke the record he set at the Tom Jones
Memorial Classic just last season (60.58m/198-9).

“All of the hard work that he put in indoors and leading up to
outdoors showed immediate results,” throws coach Steve Lemke said.
“We are expecting big things from him this season.”

vault, with one of the top jumps of his life

more great performances by our men and our women.”
