After an inmate’s girlfriend started stripping during a visitation video and he hit jail staff for trying to detain him, deputies handed out additional charges.
Deputies charged 23-year-old Tyrone Bernard Johnson with battery on detention staff, according to an arrest report.
At about 7:45 p.m., a detention deputy removed Johnson from a video visitation with his girlfriend because she started taking her clothes off on camera, which violates jail policy, according to the report.
When a deputy tried to put Johnson in handcuffs, he spun around and slapped him, causing the deputy’s glasses to fall off.
Johnson then pushed him in the chest, and the deputy’s badge fell off, according to the report. The deputy had to put Johnson in a bear hug to gain control of him.
During questioning, Johnson said he did not intentionally strike the deputy, according to the report.
He has a $50,000 bond for the battery charge.
Johnson has been at the jail since August 2013.
His charges include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; firing a weapon in public; firing a missile in a dwelling vehicle, building or aircraft; and possession of a weapon or ammo by a convicted felon, according to jail records.
