With the first week of school in the books and the weekend approaching, it is important to be aware of the different transportation options available to Gators. Student Government understands the need for students to travel safely and conveniently, especially at nighttime.
Therefore, Student Government is proud to announce an addition to students’ transportation options: Uber!
Uber connects you with a driver at the tap of a button.
Simply request a ride on your mobile device and have a driver come to you in minutes. There’s no need to carry cash, as your fare is automatically billed to your card on file, and there is no need to tip.
Download Uber on your mobile device, or register at get.uber.com/go/UFSG, and receive your first ride free (up to $20) when you use the promotional code, UFSG.
Uber will also donate $5 to UF’s Dance Marathon every time this promotional code is used.
Students should also look to Later Gator, a bus service that runs five different routes Wednesday through Saturday nights between 8:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. Later Gator is free to all students who display a valid Gator 1 Card.
In addition, the Student Nighttime Auxiliary Patrol (SNAP) provides point-to-point transportation service on campus from 6:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. To request a SNAP ride on campus, download the SNAP application on your mobile device.
Student Government encourages students who are in need of a safe ride to utilize these resources because drinking and driving is never an option. Stay safe this weekend, and GO GATORS!
