With the conclusion of the 2017 NBA Summer League this past Monday, let's take a look back at how several former Gators fared in the tournament.
Devin Robinson
Robinson, a 6-foot-8 forward who went undrafted last month, earned himself a two-way contract with Washington after averaging 3.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game with the Wizards' summer league squad.
Robinson is the second player Washington has signed to a two-way contract this offseason, along with former Pittsburgh forward Michael Young.
This new type of contract allows NBA teams to add two additional players to its roster who will spend the majority of their season in the G League (formerly known as the D-League). However, two-way players will be allowed to spend up to 45 days with their franchise's main roster.
Canyon Barry
Barry averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per game with the New York Knicks in the Orlando portion of the Summer League. Barry started two of the Knicks’ five games.
Dorian Finney-Smith
With a full NBA season under his belt, Finney-Smith seemed comfortable playing for the Dallas Mavericks.
The 24-year-old averaged 8.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals and started all six of the Mavs’ summer league games. He amassed 13 points and seven rebounds along with four assists and three steals in Dallas’ title game loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Casey Prather
Prather, the high-flying leading scorer of UF's 2013-14 Final Four team, played for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the summer league, starting all four games he played in.
Prather averaged 9.0 points per game, the most of any former Gator in this year's summer league. He was a member of back-to-back championship teams in the NBL in Australia prior to joining the Cavs.
Chris Walker
Walker was a highly-touted recruit upon his 2013 arrival in Florida. A gifted athlete, the 6-foot-10 big man had two disappointing seasons in Gainesville, finishing his college career with averages of 3.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
After opting to go pro after his sophomore year, Walker found himself on the Chicago Bulls’ summer league team this offseason, where he notched 4.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per game.
