Coach Roland Thornqvist said his team will try to learn from its mistakes after Florida fell to Vanderbilt in Sunday's SEC Tournament championship game. “We can start from zero in our preparations," he said.

The No. 2 Florida (11-1, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) women’s tennis team continue its three-match road swing today when it faces Arkansas (11-6, 1-2) at 5 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center.

UF is coming off a week break after its match against Texas A&M match on Sunday was postponed due to inclement weather.

Florida started conference play on the right note. At the most recent matchup the young squad swept the LSU Tigers 4-0 last Friday at Baton Rouge, securing its third consecutive conference play win.

After clinching that win, Coach Roland Thornqvist feels confident moving forward to the following road matches.

“It’s always good to get a win on the road Spencer [Liang] and Belinda [Woolcock] continue to anchor us in doubles at that No. 3 position, and Brooke [Austin] and Kourtney [Keegan] showed great poise in battling back from being down to clinch the doubles point. We went right to work in singles and got all three wins in straight sets,” he said.

“This is a solid singles lineup and as long as we can stay healthy, I’m confident this team will continue to be successful in the next three matches on the road, Thornqvist said.

The Gators hold a 25-1 all-time record against Arkansas. The only loss for the Gators against this team was back in 2009.

Last season, UF secured the win against the Razorbacks after a 4-0 sweep. Arkansas is entering this contest with a 4-1 loss against No. 59 Mississippi State.

Florida holds a 430-9 all-time record against Southeastern Conference teams including the postseason matchups. The Orange and Blue also own a 363-19 mark in regular-season SEC matches.

Florida three-match road swing comes to a close when the Gators face off with Missouri this Sunday at 1 p.m. The Gators have a busy week ahead of them when they return back home to face Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
