UF added some depth to its running back corps Monday, moving redshirt junior Markus Manson back to the position.
Manson has played cornerback this season after being a running back his first two years.
"I'm real excited," he said. "I just want to get on the field and play, and whatever it takes for me to help the team win, I'll do it."
Manson will provide some much-needed aid at the position, where Kestahn Moore and Brandon James are the only regular players.
"We've just got too many guys down," running backs coach Stan Drayton said. "Traveling with just a couple of backs is really living dangerously. It only made sense. Markus has played the position, and he knows all that stuff."
Drayton said Manson has a chance to earn playing time for this weekend's game against Florida Atlantic, but Manson sees things a bit differently.
"I'll play a lot," he said.
HARVIN STILL SICK: Sophomore wide receiver Percy Harvin missed practice Monday due to the sinus infection and migraines that kept him from traveling with the team to South Carolina this weekend.
Harvin, the team's leading receiver, has not finished a full practice in a week but is still expected to play when the Gators host FAU this Saturday.
"Percy was in (Sunday) and is still sick," Coach Urban Meyer said. "I anticipate we'll have him for sure (Tuesday). I think he'll play this game."
Meyer said Harvin received two IVs Sunday, and he spent part of Monday getting treatment in the team's training room.
POUNCEY COULD PLAY: After declaring Saturday that Maurkice Pouncey's high ankle sprain would keep the freshman sidelined against FAU, Meyer said Monday that he received word that the guard might recover in time to face the Owls.
Pouncey sat out Monday's practice with a boot on his right foot. If Pouncey can't play, redshirt freshman Maurice Hurt will likely receive his first career start.
GAME TIME SET: The UF-Florida State game on Nov. 24 will kick off at 5 p.m. on CBS, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday.
