My name is Craig Lowe and I am running to use my proven leadership and experience as mayor.
When I was elected to city commission, our city faced complex issues. I brought in new leadership which freed the utility to greatly expand conservation strategies such as efficiency rebates and loans available to all (including low income families). Under my guidance, we instituted a solar energy incentive that is emulated around the nation.
As the Campaign Chair of Equality is Gainesville’s Business, I helped defeat charter amendment 1,which would have stripped LGBT protections that have helped earn us our reputation as a progressive and inclusive community. My opponents have opposed or been simply unaware of the need for these protections. This isn’t the kind of leadership we need.
This May, there will be no time for on-the-job training. I am the only candidate that will bring proven experience to the office at a time we need it most. I have kept my commitments. Please vote for me so I can keep Gainesville moving forward.
