UF assistant softball coach Jen Rocha on Wednesday was named head coach of the Dallas Charge, a team in the National Pro Fastpitch League.
Because the league’s schedule runs from June until August, Rocha is also able to remain on the Gators’ coaching staff.
Since being hired by UF coach Tim Walton in 2006, Rocha has served as the Gators’ primary pitching coach and has seen success come through like a revolving door.
In 10 years, Rocha has seen five pitchers earn a combined 13 All-America honors.
Her most recent success story has been former Gator and current Dallas Charge player Lauren Haeger, who capped her collegiate career as the Women’s College World Series most valuable player, the 2015 USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year and a first-team All-American.
