A sworn complaint against UF associate professor Anthony Falsetti for simple battery and the restraining order sought against him by UF assistant professor Martha Burt have been dismissed.
Burt's attorney filed paperwork on Tuesday to dismiss his client's petition for a restraining order.
Judge Robert P. Cates granted the motion in a hearing Tuesday morning.
Burt also filed a sworn complaint against Falsetti with the Gainesville Police Department in January.
Both parties agreed to dismiss the complaint earlier this month, said Spencer Mann, spokesman for the State Attorney's Office.
In the complaint, Burt alleged that Falsetti became violent with her when she found him in bed with another woman, a lecturer at UF.
Burt and Falsetti had been in a romantic relationship for about two years, according to the complaint.
The incident occurred in December, according to the complaint.
"The matter has been resolved," said Nick Zissimopulos, Falsetti's attorney, adding that it was a collaborative effort between both parties.
Burt's attorney, Brian S. Kramer, could not be reached for comment.
