Round one of the NCAA Championship in Sugar Grove, Illinois, was hampered by rain and wind, perhaps causing some golfers to miss out on their potential.

On Saturday, round two was canceled altogether due to heavy rain.

As Gators golfers sat in the clubhouse, killing time by making houses of cards or singing a parody of “I Want It That Way” changed to “I Want a Sunny Day,” match officials called off the day’s play around 1 p.m. eastern time.

Karolina Vlckova, Taylor Tomlinson and Kelly Grassel entertained an assortment of golfers, coaches and staffers with their rendition of the Backstreet Boys classic, singing lyrics such as “Tell me why, ain’t nothing but a rain delay. Tell me why I can’t make a par today. Tell me why I’m playing in a hurricane.”

No plans were made to make up the 18 holes the golfers would have played Saturday, shortening the tournament to 54 holes through four days.

After Monday’s third round, the top eight teams will advance to match play to determine the champion.

The Golf Channel will broadcast live from Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove on Monday starting at 4 p.m. and will carry both days of match play.
