No. 2 Florida women’s tennis team heads to College Station, Texas, in hopes of extending its perfect record against Southeastern Conference teams.
The Gators (15-1, 7-0 SEC) face the Texas A&M Aggies (8-3, 5-1 SEC) today at 3 p.m.
This contest was originally scheduled for earlier this month but was postponed due to inclement weather conditions.
Florida finished the weekend strong, defeating both of its opponents at home, with a 5-2 victory Friday over No. 17 Ole Miss and a 5-2 win over Mississippi State Sunday.
Coach Roland Thornqvist said in a release he is confident his team is physically ready to play Texas A&M.
“They’re generally the same kind of team as we are. They can run, they can defend and play long points, games and sets, so I think it’ll be a fun match.” Thornqvist said. “It’s going to be a good match.”
