Divorce doesn’t justify gay marriage

In reading Michael Belle's article about how he is both a Christian and a Democrat, I thought he proposed his ideas well but had flawed logic in some of his thinking.

I, too, am a Christian. I am also a Republican, therefore stereotyping myself as the guy who should be "home watching Fox news, composing a brainless, holier-than-thou rant for my local paper."

Belle stated that he is for the sanctity of marriage but notes that married people who divorce taint its sanctity, and therefore it shouldn't be exclusive to them.

We as humans defile it, but we did not make it sacred, so it is not for us to change.
