I was extremely satisfied to read the Alligator's endorsement of the Progress Party Monday after all of their actions surrounding transparency. When I was on Turlington Plaza last Thursday, I got to see the Progress Party candidates sign a pledge to put their voting records online.
It's incredible to see candidates taking this step that Progress senators already took at the start of their term last spring.
Apathy toward Student Government is really a product of most students having no idea who their representatives are. By releasing their full Senate records on their Web site, the Progress Party is actively working to bridge that gap.
It's encouraging to see the Alligator recognize how vital the real transparency of the Progress Party is to greater participation in SG.
