UF wide receiver Percy Harvin missed his second straight day of practice Thursday with a sinus infection but should be fine for Saturday against South Carolina, Coach Urban Meyer said.
"Percy's under the weather," Meyer said. BHe started getting sick as a dog [Wednesday]."
Fellow receiver Louis Murphy missed practice Tuesday with an infection, but Meyer said he has recovered.
DUNLAP EMERGING: While newly converted defensive lineman Mike Pouncey has received the majority of the attention on the defensive line, Meyer said freshman end Carlos Dunlap has emerged lately.
Dunlap is listed at 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, but Meyer said Thursday that Dunlap was closer to 6 foot 7 and 270 or 280 pounds. Either way, the freshman has a rare combination of size and athletic ability. Dunlap just needs to work on his technique, Meyer said.
BHe was a guy that really didn?t go that hard (in practice), but he?s getting much better,C Meyer said. BHe?s going to have a great career.C
Meyer said Dunlap may see some time at defensive tackle, but he is more suited to play defensive end.
JACKSON OR WRIGHT?: Meyer still hasn?t decided whether freshman Major Wright or senior Kyle Jackson will start at free safety against South Carolina.
Jackson has started the last two games after Wright suffered a broken thumb against Kentucky. Wright did play in both games but was forced to wear a modified, taped boxing glove to protect his hand. This week, Wright only has three fingers taped up.
Meyer said Jackson played well in practice this week, and he expects both players to see playing time at the position.
