Most of Kelsey Horton's big hits go over the fence, but her key base knock Friday night found the outfield grass.
The Gators' home run leader came through with a go-ahead RBI single to push Florida past Auburn 3-2 on Friday night.
Horton's lone hit of the game marked the third consecutive one-run inning for the Gators, which was good enough to trump the Tigers' two-spot in the fourth frame.
Sami Fagan, who led off the bottom of the fifth with a single, scored the game's decisive run.
Following a Cheyenne Coyle strikeout, Fagan advanced to second on a wild pitch by Auburn's Angel Bunner to Lauren Haeger. Haeger drew a walk, putting two ducks on the pond for Horton, who brought Fagan home with a single to left field.
Florida's other two runs came from a leadoff solo shot from Michelle Moultrie in the third and an Ensley Gammel RBI single in the fourth that knocked in Jessica Damico. Damico entered the game to pinch run for Bailey Castro, who reached base on a ground-rule double to center field.
The three runs the Gators pushed across were sufficient for starter Hannah Rogers, who tossed her 18th complete game of the season. Rogers (21-3) yielded two earned runs on five hits in seven innings, walking three and fanning six.
Rogers' had a rough frame in the fourth, giving up a leadoff home run to the Tigers' Caitlin Jordan. The, Rogers let another run score on two singles, a hit batter and an interference call from Fagan at shortstop.
Fagan's interference put Auburn ahead 2-1 before Florida rallied in the next two innings.
