Florida released its cross country schedule for the 2021 season on Wednesday.
The Gators are slated to compete in five meets before regionals, including the annual Mountain Dew Invitational held in Gainesville, Florida.
The team will open its season with the Mountain Dew Invitational on Sept. 11. Last season, the men’s team finished third with two athletes who placed in the top 10. The women’s team did not place but current junior Payton Capes-Davis led the Gators with a 17th-place finish.
Florida will then hit the road for the rest of its season. On Oct. 1, the team will split up for two meets — the Notre Dame Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Indiana, and the UCF Invitational in Orlando, Florida.
Following those races, the Gators begin postseason competition on Oct. 29 with the SEC Championships held in Columbia, Missouri. The men’s team placed seventh and the women’s team finished ninth at the 2020 SEC Championships.
The NCAA South Regional Championship will be held on Nov. 12 in Huntsville, Alabama, and the NCAA Championships on Nov. 20 in Tallahassee, Florida.
