Junior college transfer Justin Leon has committed to play at Florida, UF announced on Tuesday.
The former Shawnee Community College player will be eligible to compete in the upcoming 2015-2016 season and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Leon, a 6-foot-8, 200 pound forward, was originally committed to Louisiana Tech, where he was recruited by new UF coach Michael White.
As a freshman at Shawnee, Leon averaged 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting .563 percent from the field. As a junior college All-American last season, Leon increased his totals to 21.5 points and 10 rebounds per game, and shot .504 percent.
The Conway, Arkansas, native will help bolster a Florida frontcourt that already includes 2014 transfers John Egbunu from USF and walk-on Schuyler Rimmer from Stanford.
All three will likely compete for playing time behind returning forward Devin Robinson and starter Dorian Finney Smith, as well as incoming freshmen forwards Keith Stone and Kevarrius Hayes.
The Gators still have one more scholarship offer available.
