No. 8 Florida and Mississippi State will begin a three-game series tonight at 7:30 in Starkville, Mississippi.
Right-hander Logan Shore (5-2, 2.16 ERA) will get the start for the Gators (28-10, 9-6 Southeastern Conference), who are coming off an extra-innings road loss to Florida State on Tuesday.
Despite the 4-3 loss, UF found some positives from its play in Tallahassee.

The Gators also lead the nation in fielding percentage (.985) and rank sixth in slugging percentage (.483) as they begin the back half of the SEC season.
Currently, the Gators sit in fifth place in the conference, three places ahead of the Bulldogs.
Mississippi State (22-16, 6-9 SEC) has lost four of its last five games and rank in the bottom half of the SEC in ERA (3.99), hits (343), batting average (.278) and opposing batting average (.256).
