Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested an Archer, Florida,  man early Sunday morning after they said he lost control of his truck while drunk.

At about 2:30 a.m., Alan Kyle Wilson, 24, flipped his pickup truck onto its left side while driving on State Road 24 near Southwest 154th Street, according to an FHP report. Troopers found Wilson seated on the road near his truck, according to the report.

Troopers said Wilson’s breath smelled strongly of alcohol and that his eyes looked bloodshot and watery. Wilson told authorities he drank mixed whiskey drinks at a friend’s house and lost control of his truck, according to the report.

Troopers called Alachua County Fire Rescue to help Wilson, who was visibly in pain. When Emergency Medical Services responded, Wilson stumbled to an ambulance, according to the report.

He was taken to the North Florida Regional Medical Center, where hospital staff recorded a blood-alcohol level of .249, more than three times the legal limit, according to the report. Once released, Wilson was arrested for DUI and DUI with property damage.

He was released from jail Monday morning on his own recognizance.
