Buck McMullen, Vietnam Veteran Against McCain/For Barack Obama
Less than three weeks from election day, it seems Sen. Barack Obama has a comfortable advantage. Don't be lulled into complacency by the polls. Historically, these polls tighten as voting day approaches, and they are especially likely to be inaccurate this year.
Young people constitute the demographic with the lowest turnout. This year, students can change that and make the difference between a McCain/Palin victory and an Obama/Biden blowout - but you actually have to vote to do so.
Take advantage of Florida's early voting law. You can vote at your convenience between Oct. 20 and Nov. 1, avoiding the likely lines and hassles at polling places on election day.
Early voting is available at the County Administrative Building and the Millhopper and Tower Road Branch Public Libraries. A picture ID, such as a driver's license, passport or Florida ID, is required.
Florida is crucial to McCain. He can't win without it. Young, first-time voters could be the bloc that makes it happen for Obama. Do it! Vote!
