Shame on you, University Athletic Association staff. Herding Rollins College's fans around from section to section like cattle during the men's basketball game Thursday night was disgraceful.
Would you want Gators fans to be treated that way at other teams' arenas?
I can understand not letting the Rollins fans stand in an aisle, but chasing them around a half-empty arena was uncalled for. It was an exhibition game, for crying out loud, and one we knew we would win.
So what if their fans want to stand and cheer in the nosebleed Section 3? Our fans are allowed to stand and cheer, and we encourage rowdiness, yet part of the Rollins group was escorted out by University Police. They weren't in anyone's way and did not need to be babysat by six O'Connell Center staff members and three cops.
Stop your power trip and let the teams play and the fans cheer.
