Local police identified a UF student on Wednesday after back-to-back public masturbation incidents earlier in the week.
Gainesville Police filed a sworn complaint for lewd acts against 18-year-old UF student Eric Cody Moxam after a joint investigation with University Police, according to a UF emergency notification.
A female student called UPD on Wednesday after she witnessed Moxam masturbating while sitting on a bench near Little Hall on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m., according to the notification.
Gainesville Police also responded on Monday to reports of Moxam allegedly masturbating near Sorority Row, according to the notification.
Moxam has not responded to multiple requests to comment.
The woman who reported the incident to UPD said Moxam sat next to her on the bench for about 10 minutes after which she noticed him masturbating. She then left the area.
UPD filed a sworn complaint against Moxam for lewd/lascivious acts, according to the notification.
“He’s trespassed from campus,” said UF spokeswoman Janine Sikes, meaning Moxam cannot attend class or set foot on campus for an undetermined amount of time.
