Gainesville Police are investigating the recent kidnapping and rape of a local woman after she reported the incident herself Sunday night.
The victim told police she was grabbed and forced into a car on the 500 block of Southwest Seventh Terrace at about 10:30 p.m., according to GPD spokeswoman Tscharna Senn.
During the next hour, the victim was driven somewhere unknown, raped and then dropped back off where she’d been picked up.
The victim reported the incident to police shortly after being dropped off, said Lt. Rob Koehler.
The status of the victim was unknown at press time.
