Last week we pointed out that "The Hunger Games" memes were dominating social media just as the film was in the box office.

Two weeks later, that’s still the case. But we’re happy to announce that — finally — UF trolls have stepped up to the plate.

Two Hunger Games-themed memes have been posted on the University of Florida Memes page. Yay!

There’s one on FSU, of course, and another on the allure of Harry Potter world at nearby Universal Orlando. Ironic, since the Hunger Games trilogy is sizing up to be a big-time competitor for Harry Potter.

We’re liking the idea of the “Freeloader Katniss” meme. A quick Google and knowyourmeme.com search finds that this is the first of meme of its kind. We wouldn’t be surprised if it took off on Reddit. Kudos to Franklyn Francois, the original poster.

We’re glad UF students have actually caught up with "The Hunger Games" trend. We were worried there for a bit. It’s true what Mashable says: New memes are only being created out of scandal and celebrity.

Speaking of Mashable …

UF’s meme page has gone viral! The Gators are ranked No. 12 out of 20 on Mashable’s list of Colleges Where Memes Are All the Rage. The default picture for UF in the slideshow is appropriately Karate Kyle and the impossible nuisance we call the housing contract. Troll on FSU’s page (which didn’t make the list) with this gold.

Until next week, happy trolling! And may the odds be ever in your favor.
