It’s almost that time again.

That time when no one is safe from the mass of blue, orange and red fliers.

That time known as Student Government elections.

However, this cloud does have a silver lining because there will only be two SG parties hounding you every time you walk through Turlington Plaza instead of three.

The Orange and Blue Party and the Progress Party have finally made amends and rejoined to try once more to defeat the behemoth known as the Unite Party (you know, that little ole’ party currently holding 87 Senate seats and the executive branch.)

Party officials from the new, nameless, super-indie party (or is it just a regular indie party now since they broke up two semesters ago?) say the parties share a desire to give students a stronger voice and to make SG more transparent.

But we here at the Alligator suspect their reason for realigning may have stemmed from another issue.

It’s clear to anyone with eyes that these two parties have had a measly existence the past two semesters with the Progress Party only holding seven Senate seats and the Orange and Blue Party only holding two Senate seats.

Whatever the reason may be, we’re just glad to see those silly kids worked it out and put the past and bickering behind them.

Let’s face it; if things continue the way they’re going, the Unite Party won’t just be the majority party, it’ll be the only party, and that doesn’t seem like much of a democracy to us.
